Throwback To The Time When Sridevi Once Ensured Janhvi Kapoor And Khushi Kapoor Get Settled And Married But Felt Wrong
Late superstar Sridevi was touted as India’s first female superstar. The actor has done some diverse films in multiple languages and she has effortlessly eclipsed the male stars when the industry was dominated by men. She showcased her power onscreen and gained a huge fan base. August 13 was Sridevi’s birth anniversary where her daughters penned lovely notes for their late mother. Sridevi was a doting mother. She gave up her career after delivering two beautiful children and dedicated her life to raising them. However, mothers are always protective and caring towards their children, Sridevi was also one of them.

There was a time when Sridevi wanted her daughters Khushi Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor to get settled down and get married but then she felt wrong as she wanted them to be independent. She was taken aback when Janhvi wanted to act. Talking about herself as a mother, the actor had told Colors Cineplex in an interview, “I’m a very protective mother, but I’m not possessive. There was a time I thought I’ll ensure my daughters get settled and I get them married. But that’s wrong because I also want them to be independent, and they should take up a profession where they can stand on their own feet.”

The English Vinglish actor even revealed she was taken aback when Janhvi Kapoor chose acting as a profession. “But when Janhvi took up acting as a profession, like any mother I felt possessive. I know this profession has given me everything in life, but it also meant giving away your life out in the open. So when I got to know her choice, I was taken aback,” she continued.

Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018, reportedly, due to accidental drowning in her guest room in Dubai.
